This year World Council of Credit Unions is partnering with Refuweegee, an organization founded in December 2015 to provide a warm welcome to forcibly displaced people arriving in Glasgow, no matter where they are from. Their aim is to enable the existing community in extending the friendly welcome that Glasgow is world renowned for. They do this through their welcome packs, events and their volunteer appointment shop where refuweegees can choose essential items they need.
You can support Refuweegee by bringing an item with you in your suitcase or purchasing one once you arrive. Here is a list of needed items:
- Toiletries – Shampoo, shower gel, soap, toothbrush & toothpaste, deodorant and sanitary or shaving items.
- Notepad and pen
- Hat, gloves and scarf
- Something to read – Varying reading abilities so all books acceptable. Please do consider the content though
- Coloring books and pens
- Phone Chargers
Please bring the item to Registration in Hall 2 during open hours throughout the conference.
